I’m Roger Corrales a young sculptor born and raised in the Big Apple. Living in a city where art is embedded in the community, it was hard for me not to be inspired to test the waters. I was intrigued by murals and graffiti by artist like De La Vega and the Tats Cru. After experimenting in black books I quickly learned that wasn’t where my talent lied. As I started Lehman College, I quickly discovered I should be working in the third dimension.
Since I live in the largest sculpture park on Earth (NYC) it has naturally influenced my work as well. I have acquired a taste for sculpture where I mix neoclassical forms with a little sense of humor and soon I’ll be experimenting with abstract forms of the human figure.
